After the pocket show at North Art, a guy named Malcom invited me to take part in this show to help out for the Hurricane that happened in Cuba in 2017. He asked me at the last minute so I put it a couple paintings that I already had at home. I remember the construction painting was still wet at the time and I almost pulled out of it. But I'm glad I didn't. I had been working as a labourer the previous year and took photos of workers that I thought could make interesting artwork. This painting was one of them. The other was a second attempt at doing a painting based on a dream. I feel my illustation skills weren't there at the time, but I gave it a go and will probably do a better version one day.
